The Law Enforcement Run to Remember 5K is a fully-supported 5K run taking place Sunday, October 13, 2013. And due to the government shutdown, we welcome the Boo Run for Life participants who will be joining us this year.

This will be an incredible day for us to honor the sacrifice and celebrate the service of America’s law enforcement officers. The 5K run start and finish is at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, 400 block of F St NW, Washington DC. Run start is 7:30 AM.

Note, although the Metro’s Judiciary Square (Red Line) station is conveniently located at the Memorial, the trains don’t start operating until 7:00AM on Sundays. If you are planning to use the Metro for run morning transportation, you are strongly encouraged to pick up your materials prior to Sunday.

The 5K run is a timed race that will have a closed course, permitted for runners only. However, participants will be allowed to “power” walk the 5K route if they can keep a 15-minute mile pace (4 miles per hour).

We will recognize our overall male and female 5K winners with a special award on-site. Additionally, the first male and female finisher in each age category will receive a special award. Be sure to stick around after the 5K to see how you stack up and pick-up your award(s).

Parking

Street parking will be available in the area surrounding the National Law Enforcement officers Memorial. Be sure to check the parking enforcement signage. Additionally, there are parking garages in the area. Participants are encouraged to check open time if you plan to use garage parking.

Packet pick up and incentive distribution for the Ride & Run to Remember will be hosted at First Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 4th ST NW, Washington DC 20001. It is a half block from the Judiciary Square metro station on the Metrorail’s Red Line.
