The WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER PHOTO TRIBUTE CONTEST is sponsored by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (“NLEOMF”), 901 E Street, NW, Suite 100, Washington, DC, 20004-2025. By entering the contest, you agree to be bound by these Contest Rules. Please read these rules carefully before submitting your photo.
One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive a trip to Washington, DC for the 2011 Candlelight Vigil. Trip includes: two (2) nights hotel accommodations at a NLEOMF-specified hotel (lodging only, standard room), round trip coach airfare for one (1) from the airport nearest winner’s residence to Washington, DC, seating for one (1) at the 2011 Candlelight Vigil currently scheduled for May 13, 2011, one (1) invitation to the VIP reception currently scheduled for May 13, 2011, and a guided tour of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. All other unspecified expenses (including meals, gratuities and any incidental expenses) are solely the responsibility of the winner. Travel insurance is not included. All travel arrangements, accommodations and airline seat locations are at the discretion of NLEOMF.
Approximate retail value: $1,500. The actual value of the prize will depend upon airfare fluctuations and the winner’s point of departure. In the event the actual value of the prize is less than the approximate retail value, any difference will not be awarded. Tax liabilities resulting from any prize shall be the sole responsibility of the prize recipient.
Traveler must possess required travel documents (e.g. valid photo I.D.) prior to departure. Travel must be completed on the dates specified by NLEOMF, which are subject to change, or prize will be forfeited. Non-compliance with these requirements may result in disqualification, and Grand Prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected, time permitting. NLEOMF reserves the right to substitute prize of equal or greater value.
NLEOMF will begin accepting photo submissions on or about February 1, 2011 and entries must be received by March 13, 2011. Voting will begin on March 14, 2011 and be completed by March 31, 2011. Prize will be awarded on or about April 5, 2011. The odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible entries received.
Who Can Enter
This contest is being offered solely via the internet and is open to all legal U.S. residents over 18 years of age. Employees of NLEOMF are ineligible to win this contest. All entries received from ineligible entrants will be rendered null and void.
How to Enter
Entries must be made as follows: (1) fill in the top of the WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER poster, available for download at www.WillAlwaysRemember.org; (2) take a photograph that includes the completed poster; and (3) upload your photo to www.WillAlwaysRemember.org between February 1, 2011 and March 13, 2011. (4) You may vote for your favorite uploaded photo online at www.WillAlwaysRemember.org between March 15, 2011 and March 31, 2011.
There is no limit on the number of entries that an individual may submit.
All submissions must be your own original work, free of any advertising or any copyrighted, unlawful or offensive material. You are solely responsible for all content you submit to NLEOMF. When a participant enters the contest, the participant grants NLEOMF a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable right, in all media, to use, modify, reproduce, distribute and publish the participant’s submission, and the participant hereby waives any moral rights and publicity rights in the submission. Participants understand that uploading a photo does not mean they will win the contest. NLEOMF reserves the right to remove or refuse to post any image on the website at any time, in its sole discretion.
The photo that receives the most votes online at www.WillAlwaysRemember.org during the voting period of March 14, 2011 and March 31, 2011 will be deemed the winner, as determined solely by NLEOMF. You do not need to submit a photo to be allowed to vote for your favorite. Limit one vote per IP address.
The winner will be notified by postal mail or email on or about April 5, 2011. All participants are solely responsible for ensuring current and valid contact information. Return or undeliverable notifications may result in forfeiture of the prize.
A potential Grand Prize winner may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility, release of liability and a publicity release (where not prohibited by law) within ten (10) days of notification.
The name of the winner will be available at www.WillAlwaysRemember.org on or after April 5, 2011.
Limitations on Liability
NLEOMF is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by website users or by any of the equipment or programming associated with the uploading of entries, or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of submissions. NLEOMF assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, theft, destruction, unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries. NLEOMF is not responsible for any problems or malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, or for any other technical problem, including injury or damage to participants or to any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating or uploading materials in this contest. If, for any reason, the contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures and/or any other causes beyond the control of NLEOMF which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity and/or proper conduct of this contest, NLEOMF reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify and/or suspend the contest.
This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. NLEOMF accepts no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize granted hereunder.
By submitting an entry, participants represent and warrant that (a) they have the right to enter this contest, (b) they have obtained all necessary consents, releases and permissions for use of their photo submission in accordance with this Agreement , and (c) NLEOMF’s reproduction, publication, display or other use of their entry will not infringe or otherwise violate the rights of any third party, including without limitation any intellectual property rights and any rights of privacy and publicity. By entering the contest, each participant agrees to indemnify and hold NLEOMF harmless against any third party claims arising out of or related to participant’s submission.
Participants found to be in violation of the official rules will automatically be disqualified, and any prize granted will be forfeited.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A PARTICIPANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, NLEOMF RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
