129 law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty in 2017.
Ms. Grace E Lash
I have signed up for Run For The Badge 5K again this year. Even though it is several months away, I need your help. I have made the first contribution to show my dedication to this cause. Check out my story below.
It is that time again for the NLEOMF Run. I will be participating in the 5K, along with my youngest daughter, and running as a current Law Enforcement Officer and a Survivor. Please support me as I take a stand behind the brave men and women of law enforcement who put their lives on the line every day to protect the public.
Every year the date I lost my father gets further away in time. However, each year it grows closer to my heart as I have the opportunities provided to me that allows me to contribute to the other families that ache as I do. Not only does NLEOMF support the fallen memories, but is there to encourage training and support to those that battle the evil everyday. Strength to those that stand courageous in the face of danger that has become an everyday, and unfortunately too common, read in todays news feeds. The Memorial Fund is the only national organization dedicated to honoring and commemorating the service and sacrifice of the fallen law enforcement officers in our nation. The Memorial's walls are currently engraved with the names of 21,541 fallen American heroes. Sadly, they just added more this spring. This is an organization that I became all to familiar with in 1997. It is only in these past few years have I come to appreciate what it takes for NLEOMF to continue its cause. I hope that I can have your support and encouragement to continue to participate in this Run for as long as it is possible.
I’m a part of the Run for the Badge because law enforcement officers support us every day, and every 60 hours an officer makes the ultimate sacrifice for public safety. I’m showing my support by participating and I hope you’ll help me by making a generous donation toward my fundraising goal.
